OMC’s Profiled Backlight™ technology offers a number of unique benefits, including fast sample turnaround, minimal set-up costs and cost-effective production, even for low volume requirements of a bespoke design. This technology also allows us to modify and adjust designs easily, simplifying the product development process. We have over 250 standard sizes, and specialise in bespoke solutions.
Our Moulded Backlight technology offers the most cost-effective solution for higher volume requirements (typically 25k+ pieces), and allows you to incorporate innovative features such as assembly aids, mounting clips, stand-offs and integral emitter PCBs.
As an extension to the optical moulding technology we use in our moulded backlights, OMC has also developed a range of mouldings for use as light-guiding accessories, including lightpipes for SMD LEDs (both standard and bespoke designs) and complex illuminated mouldings.
OMC pioneered the introduction of LEDs as a backlighting technology in the early 1990s through the development of our innovative Profiled Backlight™ range, which won the UK National Component Award for Innovation following its successful launch.
